Windows 11 build 22621, which was released for the Beta channel earlier this week, could be the one to serve as RTM and then go live for production devices as well.ZDNET's recommendations are based on many hours of testing, research, and comparison shopping. Based on this trend, we are advancing the pace of the rollout faster than we originally announced and entering the final phase of availability for Windows 11 ahead of our initial plan of mid-2022,” Microsoft said back in January. Since the launch of Windows 11 in October, we have seen strong demand and preference for Windows 11 with people upgrading their eligible PCs at twice the rate we saw for Windows 10. “The upgrade offer to Windows 11 is entering its final phase of availability and is designated for broad deployment for eligible devices.

The company wants to complete the rollout by the summer, so most likely, the broad availability should be reached rather soon. In the meantime, however, Microsoft is working on bringing Windows 11 to all eligible devices, as the rollout is still underway. However, the release of Windows 11 version 22H2 is likely pretty close, and we should expect additional news on this front at the Build developer conference.

Of course, it’s important to keep in mind that Microsoft is yet to confirm these dates, so you’d better take everything with a pinch of salt for now. Well-known Microsoft watcher WalkingCat revealed on Twitter that Windows 11 version 22H2 is projected to be signed off on May 24, with the final build to then receive additional minor polishing before the public rollout to production devices starts. We’ve known for a while that Windows 11 version 22H2 was supposed to reach the RTM phase at one point before the summer, and now it looks like this highly anticipated moment is just around the corner.
